The India-Russia joint declaration by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi focused on trade and investment, while extracting an unambiguous stand on Kashmir that reflective of New Delhi's narrative. In a veiled attack on Pakistan's effort to internationalise the Kashmir issue, with Putin by his side, Modi said: "We both are against outside influence in internal matters of any nation."This is the 20th Indo-Russian joint summit, said Modi as he stressed on the decades-old friendship between the two countries.

A Delhi man has been fined a whopping Rs 23,000 here for riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet and also for not carrying important documents.Gurugram Police issued the man, identified as Dinesh Madan, a challan on Monday for not carrying the documents including his driving licence, registration certificate of the motorcycle and the pollution certificate. A resident of Geeta Colony in East Delhi, Madan was issued the challan opposite the district court in Gurugram.

The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday arrested senior Congress leader from Karnataka D.K. Shivakumar in a money laundering case. Shivakumar was arrested on Tuesday evening following his questioning for the fourth time by the agency, IANS quoted an ED official as saying. He said Shivakumar was arrested on charges of money laundering. The official said that Shivakumar was evasive and non-cooperative during questioning by the agency.Shivakumar, former Karnataka minister, deposed before the financial probe agency on Friday for the first time after the Karnataka High Court rejected his petition for interim protection from arrest by the agency.
