Vijayadashami also known as Dasahara, Dusshera, Dasara, Dussehra or Dashain is a major Hindu festival celebrated at the end of Navaratri every year. Navaratri is a Hindu festival that spans nine nights and is celebrated every year in the autumn. It is observed for different reasons and celebrated differently in various parts of the Indian cultural sphere. Theoretically, there are four seasonal Navaratri. President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday extended his greetings to the countrymen on the eve of Dussehra or Vijayadashami -- a major Hindu festival celebrated at the end of Navaratri every year.
