BJP's CEC meeting begins; likely to release first list of candidates today

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to release its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections today during its central election committee meeting scheduled to take place later in the day. As the Election Commission, earlier this week, announced the dates of the much-awaited General Elections and stated that it would be conducted in seven phases across the country, BJP’s first list can have the names of most of the candidates for first phase polling. The first phase of General Elections 2019 will be held on April 11 on as many as 91 Lok Sabha seats. The election for a total of 543 parliamentary seats will go on till May 19 and the counting of votes will be taken up on May 23.
