Meghdoot | Increase in sale of colourful umbrellas witnessed in Meghalaya

In Meghalaya's rural areas, most of the people are seen walking with a bamboo leaf-shaped thing on their shoulders or on their head. They are the umbrellas made of bamboo which are called 'kanupa'. The people in rural areas are protected from rain through this. Their bodies are always covered by them and people continue to work even during the rain.In the village, the women make the kanupas in the house and then they are sold in the market.
