Onion price crosses Rs 100, relief by November end| Top News
In the last one week, the price of onion has increased by 40 to 50 percent. In Delhi too, the price of onion has reached Rs 100 per kg in the open market. Earlier it was expected that in the first week of November, the price of new onion crop would come down but it could not happen.Blaming the lack of uniformity in rain patterns for hurting production of onions, Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said on Wednesday that the Centre is taking all possible steps but 30-40 per cent reduction in production and supply disruptions due to rains were the main cause for the price rise.
