Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana: A look at the ground reality
According to the 2011 census the, families who fall in the BPL (poor) category can get the benefit of the Ujjwala scheme. Under this Ujjwala scheme, there is a target of providing free LPG connections to a total of 8 crore BPL families. However, the price of LPG cylinder has also started touching the sky. On Thursday, once again the price of LPG was increased by 25 rupees. After this, the price of 14.2 kg non-subsidized cylinder has now gone up to Rs 794.
