Government Announces Padma Awards: Kader Khan, Gautam Gambhir Among 112 Awardees | ABP News

In the eve of the 70th Republic Day, the Ministry Of Home Affairs on Friday announced that Padma Awards - one of the highest civilian Awards of the country, are conferred in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. This year, the government selected 112 recipients for the prestigious awards. This includes 4 Padma Vibhushan, 14 Padma Bhushan and 94 Padma Shri awards.The Awards are given in various disciplines/ fields of activities, viz.- art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc. ‘Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service. Padma Awards, which were instituted in the year 1954, is announced every year on the occasion of Republic Day except for brief interruption(s) during the years 1978 and 1979 and 1993 to 1997.   These awards are conferred by the President of India at ceremonial functions which are held at Rashtrapati Bhawan usually around March/ April every year. 70 वें गणतंत्र दिवस की पूर्व संध्या में, गृह मंत्रालय ने शुक्रवार को घोषणा की कि पद्म पुरस्कार - देश के सर्वोच्च नागरिक पुरस्कारों में से एक, तीन श्रेणियों, अर्थात् पद्म विभूषण, पद्म भूषण और पद्म श्री से सम्मानित किया जाता है। इस साल, सरकार ने प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कारों के लिए 112 प्राप्तकर्ता चुने। इसमें 4 पद्म विभूषण, 14 पद्म भूषण और 94 पद्म श्री पुरस्कार शामिल हैं। पुरस्कार विभिन्न विषयों / गतिविधियों के क्षेत्रों में दिए जाते हैं, जैसे- कला, सामाजिक कार्य, सार्वजनिक मामले, विज्ञान और इंजीनियरिंग, व्यापार और उद्योग, चिकित्सा, साहित्य और शिक्षा, खेल, सिविल सेवा आदि असाधारण और विशिष्ट सेवा के लिए 'पद्म विभूषण' से सम्मानित किया जाता है। पद्म पुरस्कार, जिसे वर्ष 1954 में स्थापित किया गया था, की घोषणा हर साल गणतंत्र दिवस के अवसर पर की जाती है, सिवाय इसके कि वर्ष 1978 और 1979 और 1993 से 1997 के दौरान संक्षिप्त व्यवधानों को छोड़कर। ये पुरस्कार भारत के राष्ट्रपति द्वारा सम्मानित किए जाते हैं। प्रत्येक वर्ष मार्च / अप्रैल के आसपास राष्ट्रपति भवन में आयोजित होने वाले समारोह। #PadmaBhushan #President #RepublicDay To Subscribe our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/abpnewstv Download ABP App for Android: http://bit.ly/2fRkOeI Download ABP App for Apple: https://apple.co/2CqPHiR About Channel: ABP News is a news hub which provides you with the comprehensive up-to-date news coverage from all over India and World.
