Several areas in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir have been covered under the thick layer of snow. The entire north Indian plains have been under the grip of a severe cold spell. In Himachal, the heavy snowfall even affected efforts to clear heavy snow on the roads, while snowfall became trouble for 2 people in Lahaul-Spiti. Due to a medical emergency, 2 persons were airlifted from Lahaul-Spiti.
